80%of CCTV Is Not Fit For Purpose
Recent research* shows that police opinion is that up to 80% of CCTV evidence is not fit for purpose. ‘As businesses often rely on CCTV footage in employment law or health & safety cases, poor quality CCTV footage, badly presented in court, is easily discredited by a smart lawyer.’ It is very important that you know what you want from your CCTV system and that the cameras and DVR give you the images that you need i.e for identification of individuals or vehicle number plates.

Daylight Savings & Cable Thieves Caught on Camera
Don’t forget that daylight savings ends on Sunday 4th April so you will need to turn back your clocks by 1 hour. You will also need to reprogramme the time on your alarm panel; this is very important when your alarm is part of an access control system as your gates will open an hour earlier then normal.

Christmas is coming and unfortunately break-in’s happen more often during this holiday period. Try to ensure you do not advertise your new Christmas toys. Make your house look a harder target than next door: alarm stickers, outside siren and security lights should be working and looking new.

Camera Catches Thief
Insight EDS installed and maintained Access Control and CCTV systems work! Recently one of our buildings was broken into by a man who had stolen an access card. The cameras caught him gaining access into the lifts, exiting onto certain floors and helping himself to lap-tops.
